MICHEL THIBERT More than a landscape photographer
A photographer supporting and tracking inner peace
Through his signature photographic style, Michel Thibert invites the viewer to experience, with him, areas around the world that one may otherwise never see. His use of vanishing points allows us to ‘enter’ nature, not physically but emotionally. This pushes us further towards a shared perspective. Michel’s work will carry you through a tumult of landscape impressions, fields, mountains, rivers, and clouds. He aspires to find, feel and capture the essence of the product of Mother Nature's Creations; motivating us as viewers to create our own paths of discovery. Perhaps Michel’s images will help you with your journey and fill your surroundings with ‘Beauty Rediscovered’ guiding you to your own inner peace.
Michel took up photography at the age of 15, perfecting techniques while developing a talent for framing and light management. By 1973, he had already worked five years in the field of communication and video production (commercials and series). Over the next thirty-five years he worked in business development and ended his career as an airline pilot.
Now 64 years old, he devotes all his time to discovering Life. Photography has always caught Michel’s attention and it is quickly becoming his favored way of communicating his vision of the land. His vision is an experience shared between the people he meets and the landscapes that inspire his art. He began by perfecting his techniques and his personal style directly from the cockpit of his airplane, sometimes using the panoramic views in relation to the scale of the scene.
6 integrated collections around Inner Peace
In the last two years, Michel’s perspective has transformed from a descriptive one to an evocation of his feelings that help him understand his reality. Michel’s preferred shooting locations and routes highlight and bring the last few remote areas on our planet alive, feeding off the notion that few of us have ever been there. From the rainforests of Costa Rica to the small villages of the Canadian Arctic, Michel uses photography to highlight social issues that are currently impacting people and nature.
Recognizing the DNA of a region by its climate and geomorphological structures is only an illusion of a moment. This quest therefore requires a search for transparency of the inhabitants and their intrinsic lives with the DNA of each place. Obviously, the permeability of the photographer will make the transfer to the medium more precise. The different Collections Michel offers reflect his different journeys as an artist. We hope that in sharing this art we can transport you to the light that seduced Michel Thibert on these journeys!
